Minty Waterford OS Paramount, what would you pay?

You’re encountering one of the many illogical aspects of our C&V hobby. I’d buy this frameset for $150 and hang $600 worth of components on it but I’d only pay $500 for someone else’s complete bike. There is currently no known cure for this affliction.

Yup, when "...unless it was something I really wanted" gets thrown into the equation, and it's in great shape, all of a sudden it might be worth more than a sane person might want to pay.

Bikes: Old Carlton frame and fork. Old Nishiki frame and fork, single speed build? 2003 Scattante full carbon/Ultegra. 90’s trek steel with full 600(purchased for the components) Also vintage K2 full suspension

First off Tim you must be one tall gentleman.
Secondly I considered the excellent overall condition of paint and components as well as the the fact it has almost no wear on the rings etc. I offered him everything in my wallet, $650.
Truth is there would be no chance to replace or build up a facsimile at this price.
Wasn’t enough. Too bad. Now I have my eye on an 85 Olmo for approx the same numbers and around we go.

That’s a pretty decent $650 bike in today’s market. Not great, but decent.

I admit it: I'm a sucker for a pretty face.
When I see a classic ride with a near pristine finish and good overall condition, and it's a bike I've always admired, boom, valuations out the window.
I mean, if it's a sharp ride, and you gotta have it, I would not let a few hundred dollars get in the way.

darn, the seat cluster sure looks sweet!
I like that the brake bridge has those reinforcements (lugs, don't know what they are really called).
That is a tell tale sign of a high end frame.
I'd love to see the bottom bracket shell.
That's a place where many frame makers kinda cheap out, even though the plain Jane BB shells are perfectly serviceable and have stood the test of time.
