Shimnano Brake pads question
Hi,
I have Shimano Titanium K03Ti Resin brake pads on my s-works roubaix. On one pad, there are two indented dots and it says TE and 24 in the two indentations. On the other pad it says TE and 30. I am assuming there is no difference between left and right side of the caliper - or are these numbers something I should know more about?
Thank you.

they are probably just manufacturing lot numbers.
not a detail worth worrying about.
there MAY be "left" and "right" pads on your brake, but at least the 8000 series pads that I have will fit either side of the caliper.

I don't think they are numbers to worry about at all. I have never bothered to look at the back. If the pads are both the same size and shape and actual holes you are fine and it doesn't matter. Next time I get some Shimano pads needing replace I will look at the backs more closely.

Often, when parts are mass produced a set of dies, punches, molds etc. will be in use at once.
When QC finds a bad part, they know which specific "tool" is at fault.
OR date codes, batch #'s, factory #, shift # or who knows?

As noted. Manufacturers assign lot numbers to everything. This allows tracing and identification of any defects and potential defects.
It's how recalls, as we so often see with food, can be limited to specific batches rather than 100% of the product.

Thank you all.
Sounds right to me as they look identical under my huge magnifying glass/light which is invaluable for me when working on bikes at my advanced age! Cheers all!
