Or maybe a Lone Star tick gave Larry a beef allergy and he's reacting to the cow skin. Interesting experiment, Larry, would be to eat a big rare steak and see what happens.

...hey Larry, on the off chance you really do have Lyme disease, this guy wrote a recent autobiographical account of his misadventures in seeking diagnosis and treatment. I hope you are more fortunate than him, because it really is a bugger to deal with. I'm guessing that whatever physicians you encounter there will have heard all the conspiracy theory stuff about Lyme already, so your best bet would be to just keep that to yourself...won't matter in terms of treatment anyway.

Hey guys, I just got a bike delivered (wabi classic single speed) and I paid for the “leather” tape because it sounded cool. Bike comes and the tape feels like it’s irritating my hands. I suspect a chemical involved in the leather production process is the culprit. Thing is, I found a tick on my leg a couple weeks ago, so I’m on oral antibiotics for Lyme disease. Weird rash has been moving around my body but it feels different than the one I’ve been attributing to my handlebars, but I can’t say for sure. Keeping the bike outside in hopes the chemical gets attacked by the sun and vents out.
have you guys heard of people having a similar problem?

Lyme disease is certainly a STD, it’s a very mysterious disease, lots of posters on chronic lyme forums claim to have gotten it from partners and never got bitten themselves. It’s not something they teach in medical school. Some people think Lyme is manmade (it was first described right outside a bio lab) and some think chronic Lyme is mostly psychosomatic. But it’s definitely an STD, it’s actually really similar to syphilis.
but yeah it was from a tick not a human.

I blame folks who make these type of statements about stupid comments and beliefs for where we are. Ignorant folks are going to be ignorant, and when they say things that aren't so, they should be called out. We absolutelly know the Earth is not flat. Boomer out!...

Well if the earth is flat, I alway carry a couple of CO2 cartridges and a mini-pump. If that doesn’t work, a spare tube and a boot are in my bag too.

from webmdIs Lyme disease contagious?
You can't get Lyme disease from touching, kissing, or having sex with someone who has it. If untreated, it's possible to pass the disease to your unborn baby through the placenta, but this is rare.

Given your track record here about being really wrong about stuff, it's even sillier.

This place continues to impress, but not in the way it once did.

Kris Kristofferson was misdiagnosed with Alzheimers and other things for many years until seeing a more knowledgeable doctor who spotted it as Lyme disease immediately, tested, verified, treated, recovered:
