I have some fairly involved surgery coming up around the middle of the month. I'm going to try to get 300 miles before then. With several early morning appointments before then I'm not sure if I'll make that or not. I'm guessing I'll be off the bike for 6 weeks.

Matt, seems like you just can't get a break these last two years. Sorry to hear you have more recovery ahead of you. Good luck.

13 miles. Did an extra ride when the sun came up around 8am. Not sure I am going over there again with the disappearing bike trail and 55+mph traffic next to the bike lane.

First trip under my belt since coming back from near death.

First day was about 41 miles to a campground in S. Jersey.

The next day was about 27 miles to a ferry ride to DE then a few more miles to a terrific state park for 3 nights.

Took a couple of day rides during my time there.

Rode back to the ferry and was supposed to do 50 miles up to Atlantic City to catch the train back to Philly. Alas, there was a vicious headwind the entire way, with gust up to 30 mph. And it was only in the low 50s. Not wanting to get a late train home, I pulled up about 12 miles short of my planned destination and got a room at a Motel 6 and finished up the next day. Days were on the cool side. Nights were upper 30s to mid-40s.

480 miles YTD. Way more than the whopping 44 miles last year.

5/3: 15.04
5/4: 32.23 - Tombstone, AZ ride.

MTD: 47.27
YTD: 1098.98

Goals/plans for May: it’s a busy month with the end of the school year, prepping for moving to another state this summer, and dental surgery on the 30th (I’ll probably not ride or lift the two days prior to the surgery, and probably for a few days to a week after, depending on recovery instructions). If I hit 300, I’ll be quite satisfied with the month, but I’ll hope to match or exceed last month.
