Masi Speciale Fixed Gear - Help to identify & price

My Friend/Neighbor has moved on to an Electric full suspension bike and asked me what I thought of his "old" ride. I am guessing this is a Haro Masi? Looking to get an idea what year this might be from? Mixed up parts makes it hard to use parts date code, no idea what is original. Bike is definitely "well loved" it has been a "rider". Mis-matched brakes & tires. Any thoughts on value/asking price also appreciated. Thanks

Edit: before everyone points it out, Obviously needs a link removed from the chain! he has been riding it like that for years!

what a potential source of confusion this model name is!

there was a Masi Special in the sixties

Not a 'real' Masi AFAIK.

Wasn't BikesDirect selling these?

Other than the storied name I don't think this has anything to do with the Masi that was built in Calif and Italy. The chain looks a bit too long.

A friend of mine has a bike shop in Vancouver, and has been retailing these things for years. I think some foreign consortium bought the rights to the name, sort of like Brodie mountain bikes.
