Front Derailleur Question
So, I'm building a new TT bike. And I've been asking quite a few questions (sorry for being such a pest!) But now I have a FD question.
I took a Sora FD off a bike that I converted to a 1x9. Prior to taking it off, I'd get frequent chain rubbing. No matter how much time I spent tinkering with that thing, there was always a bit of rubbing whilst in some gears (always in the large chainring.) I hate rubbing. I was going to bring it to my LBS to see if they could figure it out, but then just swapped out a 1x ring.
But now I have the new build and I'm probably going to get a 2x crankset (after flirting with a 1x.) I'm thinking I may need a "higher end" FD, at least a 105 or up. Are the higher-end Shimano FD's less likely to give such problems, like rubbing? Is that a common issue with Sora FD's? My main road bike has a 105 group set and the FD works amazingly. The reason I ask is that the Sora FD is in great shape and just sitting in my tool box. Maybe I can just have it hooked up by an actual bike mechanic and avoid the chain rub? Thanks for any advice!

If you go with the bar end shifters you asked about, you'll have friction front. No reason for misalignment. The Sora will be more forgiving than 105+ anyway. Should be fine.

It is less sculpted inside, adjustment does not need to be as precise.
