FS: Giordana Spica 56x56, Columbus TSX, Campy 8sp, $650

SOLD.

This is a very good condition, I might even call it excellent, Giordana Spica.

56x56 (ctc).

Campagnolo 8 speed which works as Campy should.

Columbus TSX tubing.

This is being sold by Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop, in Everett, Wash. Sharing Wheels is a non-profit bike shop which serves primarily the no- and low-income community with sales, service, education, classes, etc. I volunteer there and periodically we get donations of some very nice stuff, this bike being one of them. www.sharingwheels.org.

I can facilitate sales and shipping.

I can send a few more photos and get more information is requested. Some high-res photos here: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0pGTI3fvGTV8pM

I have ridden it and it indeed rides quite nicely. Let me know any questions.

SOLD. Asking price is $650 + fees + shipping.

Looks like some monoplaner brakes. Is this Athena level Campy 8 speed?

That’s a nice go fast bike right there. I’m gonna guess Chorus or better, at least for the RD.

Gonna page Andy_K on this one as he’s on same side of the continent and it’s his size.

I can't say for sure which groupset components they are. You can see some high-res photos here and this may help. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0pGTI3fvGTV8pM

I own a Spica and they are very nice bikes. They were Billato built.

I actually see both front and rear monoplanars when looking more closely at the linked album.

The crank looks late 80's Chorus, as do the FD, brakes, etc.

My guess is that the bike got an upgrade in the mid-90's (hence the Chorus carbon brake shifters) and the RD was upgraded to handle 8spd indexing. And the RD actually looks like it may be Record, but RD trim levels were tricky to nail down during this period.

Looks like a whole lot of bike right there.

I agree except I think 93-ish on all except maybe the Ergos. Cutouts on upper and lower RD pulley cages make me think Record as well for that. Definitely a very nice bike and really gets my trigger finger itchy but I’m still trying to clear out room in my stable.

Right, I passed on both my SLX and my Cromor Giordana bikes this year as well as the SL frame. Kept both Excell Podium tubed ones. This is my size and a TSX tubed one. I've never had a TSX tubed Giordana.....hmmmm...... I've loved the ride of every Giordana I've had......hmmmm......what's one more bike....hmmmmmm.........

This is like an addiction.

I keep looking at this, what a beautiful setup. At that price it's tempting just to get the parts (not to mention a sharp TSX frame!) even though I have no need for it, looks like Omega clincher rims - good luck finding those to build up a wheel these days. I use 8s Campagnolo on an old Trek and it works great, and handles gears above the stated range fine (I also found a cheap Record OR cage from the era that adds a bit of capacity to mine). Only thing I'd think about is checking the freehub to see if it's the old 8s or newer configuration. Several threads / internet info on how to swap the old rear freehubs with the right version to work with newer cassettes (usually using an early 9s donor hub). The 8s standard cassettes are fairly plentiful out there though, but might be a little harder to find in the range you might prefer depending on riding conditions.

IIRC a Bianchi TSX that was over on Paceline for a while had the unicrown fork. Much more of a looker here!

GLWS and good of you to tempt us all and serve the greater good!

I'm an enabler, go for it James.

As you know, those Billato built frames are wonderful.

In case you might want a little more color, I'm going to put my NOS 1991 Lemond Team Z bike on the block. Then you could ride it's sister and still have a wall hanger!

I cannot believe this is still available. If I sell one more of my locally listed bikes this baby is coming home to me!

Still it always strikes me how much taller than 56cm looks than my 55cm XL Supers. I would image the basic design is the same but maybe not.

Headtube looks so much longer on the Spica.
