I think it's tacky that so many stupid fixed gear trend-mongers employ the rainbow stripes. Unless you got some worlds under your belt, then stay away.

I think the UCI can fine you 5000 Swiss francs for a rainbow jersey infraction. It is also a good way to get heckled by fellow cyclists.

I'm just glad a shop like that isn't in Hawaii. That makes me not want to ride a FG bike.

So wait... I was being serious when I had no idea what was going on...
Are we just discussing someone ripping off others artwork or trademarks?

f*** that guy. He is nothing but a plagiarist and that is why one of my friends has made a sticker in his style, with a different face saying MAKE ME in a response to his OBEY "propaganda" Its not a big deal but his "art" never sat well with me. What a poser.

Is that picture taken in LA? It's a shoe store, right?
I had an instinctual feeling of revulsion when I saw that. Predictable, yes. But is there something terribly ******** about fashion collaboration with a freakin' bicycle?
I don't know much about the Fairy, other than the whole Andre the Giant thing. the whole youth culture thing totally eludes me.
It boggles the mind.

I'd of just had to draw in a butt crack on that rear view image had I walked by that display.
my thoughts; I see a person and then I see a growing boutique shop apparel company formed from an image/campaign of someone. Obey has been a brand for some time now. Before I saw the brand, I was a fan of the campaign and it's ability to have crept into so many different places that I found myself. The very first time I saw a has a posse sticker on a ski lift pole, I wondered why anyone would use the likes of a dead wrestler - were they a fan? What's the declaration that he's survived by a posse mean? When I later read the manifesto, I found that I had been yanked by a viral campaign. That was 10 years ago.
So when I began to see collaborations like Expedition skateboards and Obey 5 years back, I didn't think that much because skateboards have always been one side scratch off art, the other grip (a good place for your art). Most buy by shape over aesthetics. If there's a graphic or color you like underneath, it is a simple plus.
I do have to admit that the application to a track bike doesn't make as much sense as that of a skate deck or t-shirt. In fact, I think it's lame but not something unexpected. Hopefully we don't see a series of these bikes though it does leave a door open for next year's limited edit. collaboration. Anyone going to buy a Neckface Fuji?
I worry more about those who have a hard time discerning the differences between person and brand than I do the brands themselves.

No Talent Assclown
I definitely don't think those world champion stripes are warranted, otherwise, meh.
