Mile 12- 4 man pileup in front of me. I stop on top of someone but don't fall over. Guy rams me from behind and gets his handlebars stuck in my rear wheel. I don't realize this and try to get going. I wrap my chain around the crank arm 3X (!) before I realize there's a dude's handlebars in my rear wheel. Can't do it myself, so I wait for SRAM neutral to deal with me. Lost 3 minutes on the field. Decided to chase for the next lap to see how it went.
Mile 27- I just finished pulling and peel off. Stand up to hitch back on the chase, and my chain pops off the big ring. Front wheel goes sideways, I endo. Head skips off the road a handful of times. Jaw hurts from the impacts on my helmet (!). Some road rash in the usual places.
I assume the chain was bent out of whack by being wrapped around the crank arm. Since it was decently worn, I'm replacing my whole drivetrain.
Im thinking God doesn't want me to be a cat2. Too bad for him I'm stubborn.

Very sorry to hear about the crashes, kudos for continuing on after the 1st, glad to hear you're okay after the 2nd (or 2d for all the lawyers out there). All the best with recovery, hopefully you'll be back out kicking ass in no time. If it makes you feel any better (it may not), I've been cooped up in a library all day, struggling to finish my last set of law school finals.

Hope you're feeling better. I was ahead of the group, after being dropped from the 40+'s. I heard the crash behind me and saw the group fan out. Sounded like an ugly crash. How were the other three riders?

Sorry for the crash, but kudos for not letting it break your stride.
