Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finally, I upgraded and got my Zipps

After a year and a half I upgraded my Campy Zonda's to a set of Zipp's. 303 front and 404 rear. Here's a tip for others looking to get Zipp's. I got these on ebay, both are new, but I bought them separately in two different auctions. Why? It's a lot cheaper that way. Bought the front for $510 and the rear for $650. That makes the set for less than $1200. Both were new 2008 models. Took it for spin today and wow what a difference, I knew they would be faster, but the road feel is so much smoother. I didn't know what I was missing.

Anyway, thought I would share my buying tip and a pic as well. Also got to try out my new 705 and new token pulleys. So far so good, since my 305 crapped out on me a couple of times.

you need a KMC X10SL Gold chain. Now.

(actually a great long lasting chain, that is the lightest on the market, and the color would match to a 'T')

What does it weigh?

I bought a set of 3 404's (maybe 6 months old) for $1,200, from another cycling forum.

Not sure, my guess is in the 15# range. Though they are lighter than my old Zonda's it's not like I'm losing a pound or anything, maybe a couple of grams.
