Wet/Windy East Coast rides this weekend

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I will never let the weather channel dictate my bike riding plans
I will never let the weather channel dictate my bike riding plans
I will never let the weather channel dictate my bike riding plans

that will be my new mantra!

Thanks to the weather channel and Mr. Woo, I took Pcad's advice and slept in this morning instead of doing my favorite century of the year!
Had I just gone out and done the friggin' ride I'd be dry and drinking beers right now.
There's going to be hell for me to pay on tuesday night's group ride for missing this century!

Thanks CW!

Oh wait, it just started raining..... now I feel better!

I woke up, checked the radar, saw the gap in the rain, took 3 Advil for my vapor locked right knee and rode 31 miles, even though the first few revolutions of my crank set were so rough on my stiff knee I wasn't sure if I could get my knee to turn revolutions (too vapor locked). The first ten miles were tough, the second ten were easier, by mile 20 it was fairly loose even though it felt bad. After the ride it's stiff, but better.

I got my ride in. I always get my ride in. F the stupid weather. And it did rain on me for half an hour. But then it stopped. Now it's pouring.

I thought I'd be riding this morning on our last team ride before the MS 150, but Hanna had other plans. Guess I'll do a solo tomorrow.

Watch TV, rest and drink a few beers. Im having a Great Divide Double Hercules IPA right now. A gift from a bud who runs a local LBS. Good stuff.

Riding today? HeLL no.

A forced day off isn't a bad thing. I've gotten all kinds of stuff done around the house today. Racking up bike points like mad.

3" + of rain so far...wind...wet leaves everywhere. No thank you.

stupid weather forecast. friday, they said thunderstorm from noon... which isn't too fun to do even in a car. So I waited... and waited... and I could have totally thrown a 4 hour ride in, had dinner, went out to the bar and come back at 2am in the morning before the thunderstorm hit.
today it wasn't even soggy outside after morning showers. Well at least I went out for a ride with fenders... but hell, it was dry! drier than the desert!

Didn't you watch Dickie's forecast last night? Rain in the early morning, heavy rains starting mid morning lasting through the day and clearing tomorrow.
Now I wonder if riding tomorrow is even going to happen, seeing as how they're about 8-12 hours off on the timing of this.
BTW - are you in Boston or Austin, or like me, don't know where the heck you are?

Did 44 mi this morning here in NJ and not a drop of rain. Really, reallly humid though. A buddy wanted me to ride the Univest Grand Prix cyclosportif, but I bailed on that one.

Whoa! Rain moving sideways here right now. I think we're in the middle of the storm at this point.

We lucked out. It was a bit wet riding this morning 7-10 am, but just like any other day, and Sunday should be good.

I signed up for tomorrow's NYC century, so I didn't ride today so that I could gather my things and get ready.

Now if I could only get these cleats to MOUNT...
