Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As others have said, 1500g is the threshold of light. That doesn't mean it will make a difference if your wheels are 1700 or even 2000g. Those last few hundred grams may matter to a tdf rider, but the average rider or even racers won't notice. That hasn't stopped me from drooling over super light wheels.

I BS you not. It took me about 2 minutes to contact the guy after he posted the add and say I'd take them. The campy hub on them saved my bacon as tri-people don't like to be bothered with swapping that sort of thing and I didn't need to.

I was quite happy with it.
My also saintly wife didn't even yell at me about that purchase.
So far I'm even happier that my fat ass hasn't popped them out of true yet making them wheels for her.(probably why I wasn't yelled at)

Lots of awesome carbon gear for cheap.

Trigeeks are the best source for used expensive stuff that you can buy for less than half of the retail price they paid for it.

He built them?

That means he lives in Germany and works for Carbonsports.

Awesome.

Yep. I payed about $1100 for my 404s, a year old, they looked just about new when I got them. Now that I've had them for 18 months they don't look new anymore : ). And when I sell them, I'll get $1000 all day long.

And that's why I like to buy some of this crap on eBay.

The same wheels would sell for $600 on a Trigeek board or classified page.

Hey kid, you're really a smartass.

And that's why there may be some hope for you. Because while you may be an ass, at least you're smart.

I'm slower than people who get paid to ride.

There is no hope.

I'm slower than at least half the USCF. But of course, that means 30-40% of them are slower than me, which makes me DFL + at least 10,000.

There's always somebody slower than you kid.

But you are correct, there is no hope. There is never hope. I know, I'm a Met's fan.

Rolf Prima Elan clinchers at 1350grams.... they are pretty light and so far indestructible..

Would love to blow 4g's on Lightweights or 5g's on Lew's, but at my weight I would only be able to hang them on the wall for show..

DT hub Lightweight wheels don't have weight limits. The carbon axle Tune hub Lightweights do.

That's strange, because most people are above average.

I am a life-long Royal's fan (last WS title was the year before the Met's, in 1985). There is NO HOPE.
