POST-A-PIC III: Reloaded
Here it is, back by popular demand (me). Post ONE OR TWO pictures from a recent ride with just a sentence or two of explanation. I'll start.
Here's my group doing a good job of riding single file.
Here's my group NOT doing a good job of riding single file (note traffic in each photo).

Any one got a blank sheet of White paper- That is what the ride would have been like. Because with the Black Ice and the thin covering of snow on the ground that is all the view you would have got.
But just a few pics from where I did plan to go.

Took a 15-miler around Mission Bay this morning with my GF. This is the view from atop one of the bridges we crossed to circle the bay.

Sunday, January 18 - "Biking for Obama" Local cyclists served as an escort to Ryan Bowen, who had just cycled to DC from the West Coast, as he rode the last five miles of the trip. Afterwards, we had a brief tour of downtown led by Ryan and Representative Earl Blumenauer (D. Portland). This was my first group ride! It felt strange to be riding in a group, but my experience flying formation with airplanes helped. I took this picture while riding one handed at one of our less tightly packed moments.

The picture is small and even a bit out-of-focus, but I thought it had kind of a "Return of the Samuri" look to it. Yeah, yeah. I did a little modification of it. It's from today's 60 miler.

Here's a link to a rail-trail ride Jo and I did, she's on her brand new Jamis Trail-X 1.0, Feb. 07, 2009

Sadly we've got SNOW in the forcast tomorrow and the rest of the week looks BAD Still it was so great to see her take to the trail like a "long timer", after a 3 year absence from riding! Now I'm just awaiting the 17th. so I can get MINE!

SKT - I would point out that 1280 feet is more than twice the highest point in Florida. A hill like that qualifies as a major mountain around here.

On our usual 25 mile mid week ride that includes a section of closed road I stopped to photograph the new red tires on my fixed gear bikes. And though you can't see 'em, I went off he deep end and got red cable ends too.

Forgot to take the camera on the ride today, but my wife took this shot of me taking the bike into the house after the ride. It was a beautiful day for a ride. It was in the upper 50's when five of us rolled out from the bike shop this morning and it was over 70 when three of us finished the 39 mile hilly ride. Not much by my own standards of old, but a landmark ride in my recovery. This was nearly twice as long as any ride I have done since the radiation therapy really knocked me down and the longest ride since my birthday ride in October. Today's route was hilly and included a good bit of shake and bake, so it was no easy ride. I made no attempt to ride fast, but I felt good about my endurance and how well I managed some pretty steep hills, even if I was using my mountain climbing granny gear 26/28 on a couple of them. I'm not as strong yet as I was before, but I could really tell today that being 35 lbs lighter makes a difference on hills. Here is the route (click on "show elevation"). Here is me after the ride and ready for more.

Yeah, well 39 miles is more than half of what I do in a week, and I'm not recovering from anything.

Here is a pic from today's training ride - 42 miles. I am at the finish of a climb ~5 minutes long that we did three times.

See if this pic posts properly.
Spring is on its way, but not here yet.
This photo taken on Saturday on a ride to get the juices flowing again.
Was 19 degrees (fahrenheit) in the morning and 40+ around noon.
Photo is of the Naches River just above where it flows into the Yakima, along the Greenway.
