Women are pretty, bikes are beautiful
I was just looking at the "Show us your Colnago steel" thread.
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=519278
Is there anything more beautiful than a vintage steel framed bike with good components? These old bikes just look so clean!! The carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium bikes all have the big tubes to gain strength. And those old steel frames are sooooooo comfortable===wish I still had my old Paramount.

I like to think of my wife as having a vintage frame with good components.

Women and bikes.....hard to find anything modern that can compete with vintage.

Regular readers know how I feel about vintage women (my wife of 35 years is 3 months older than I am) and lugged steel-framed bikes.

I guess our mods prefer drugs to sex.

IF I called my wife vintage there would be no need for any ED drug for a long time (think the value of vintage in years=no sex). OTH, I really love the look of vintage bikes, much more artful and tasteful than the super engineered exotic material frames of today. In the name of true codgerdom, I also think the Campy Neuvo Record gruppo was the most aesthetically pleasing set of cycling kit ever.

I'm not certain of that. Seems to me that they may prefer combining the two.

Speaking of combining things ... how about an Italian bike with an Italian woman

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Make that rapid breathing, Mr. Keats . . . whether talking about women . . . or bicycles . . . or both.
