Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

LOL, I've gotta say I would love to see this. After you and your buds got him banned because you guys couldn't control your urges to break all the rules when posting in his threads, and after all the verbal abuse you heaped on him, he would be serving with you, armed. It would be even better if he saved your ass a time or two. I could see it in his blog: "I werked with Dr. Pete taday, saved his life. He still won't ride with me thow."

Go Ryan! Don't forget your protective barriers.

Never said I wouldn't ride with him. In fact he challenged me to a race, and I told him where he could find me.

His complete inability to spell belies it, but I have to give him credit--he was a smarter, more capable troll than anyone gave him credit for at the time. I'm still mildly amused by the fact that there are people who really thought he was the innocent victim.

So what if I save his life? Oh, wait, never mind. That doesn't make for a funny story.

I missed out, but every time this comes up, I believe it is viewed that he wasn't so different from others on here, and that the spelling issue was just an excuse to take action.

Banned for life and he is still getting 2-pagers (maybe more). Incredible...

Not that there's anything wrong with that... :-\

Wrong with what?

Getting 2-pagers or being banned for life?

Despite his apparent lack of grammar, can someone point me to a thread that exhibits his bannable behavior? Unfortunately (fortunately?) I joined after the ryanf phenomenon.

I don't think there really was any public bannable behavior .... But some people got tired of him. I've seen worse from others who are still here.

He didn't get banned because people got tired of him.

He got banned because every time he posted, a flamewar would ensue. And each incident involved different sets of users.

In the end it was easier to ban one instigator than a sizeable group of responders.

i don't think it came down to "ease" - the responders (the ones that broke all the rules) were just more popular than ryanf was. spinerguy is spot on. and while there were a mix of people that taunted him, a few seemed to always be there. like others have said, they know who they are..

i think ryan got the shaft on that one.

and as the Official BF Librarian i'm surprised you don't already know this, bd.

I'm not the Official BF Historian.

That honorable post is held by CDR.

If you drope too much acid, your guads shrink, so there's no whey he would do that.

Maybe he was banned on the assumption that he must be trolling, but in reality he's just like that.

"hope i’m not dissappointing my “fans”."

Awesome -- old RyanF still hasn't lost his edge.

How anyone could have ever gotten po'd by his postings or let themselves act like a 12 yr old in their replies to him is beyond me.
