62 here........currently dating a bit. Would like to remarry. Gets lonely with all kids gone. Ride buddies, friends, co-workers, etc. aren't the ultimate kind of companionship. I will admit to some doubts about be able to get out of my single-life rut, make compromises, actually "share" a life again.

Yet, accepting challenges (and risks) with hope of better rewards keeps one feeling alive....

How many times have all of us gone on a ride we felt was beyond us, but more often than not finished-- and with a sense of greater well-being (and relief the pain had ended 8-)

Having been married to the same woman since 1975 it seems that the marriage will last. If I was to do it all over or need to remarry I'd act more like the person that I am, during the courtship phase, rather than the guy I needed to be to get my wife's attention. The 34 years of being the nice and neat person who helps cook and clean has broken my spirit.

You'd better make it last. She let you buy those fancy new wheels, didn't she?

Well, my dad remarried at 64 and at 88 he is still married to his 2nd bride. His bride (my step mother ?) is 2 years younger than me.

Live is interesting.

Correct, and I still need the 50+ staple of cycling, the Ti frame bike.

My wife and I actually talked about this once, if something were to happen to one of us, would we get married again (don't try having this conversation unless you are a risk taker (true) and slightly insane (also true).

Neither of us are considering it. I am too set in my ways to change again - and I would hate to have to learn how to get along with someone else.

Me: 51, and never been married.

Him: 49, and never been married.

That's precisely a century of never being married between us, if anyone's counting.

And of course the answer to the question is no.

Me, divorced for 15 years.

She, divorced for twenty years.

Us, together for eight years and plan to stay that way (I hope) but see no reason to marry.

Yes, 4 years ago when I was 56. The only problem is that I need someone to marry my ex-wife so that I can stop paying her. Either that or a geriatric hit person who works cheap...

After 8 years of dating around (ugh!), I finally found someone on enough of the same wavelength to want to be with permanently. We married after three years when I was 57, my fourth, her first. A bonus: she fits my 61cm bike - so it's hers now!
Oh yeah - I've no regrets about it - she is a great beauty and is insightful beyond my imagination . A wonderful companion, even in during hard times.

Nope. Married for first time at 54. I finally met an angel who'd put up with me and my bikes.
