ISO/WTB:

(1) Centerpull brake housing stop/ferrule for a 70s frame Raleigh--the kind that's smooth without threading and fits in a narrow hole on the bridge behind the seat tube. I lost the one I had .

(2) Axle and cones for a standard 27" rear wheel. Nothing fancy, just something that'll fit. Solid or hollow is fine.

I have all kinds of random stuff I can offer for trade, or I'll just buy these things off you.

FYI, there are certain variants of the Huret Alivit RD that use a small barrel adjuster that is perfectly suited to this purpose.

If they're non-aero levers and you're not too picky, Dia-compe/Cane Creek still sells new ones for not too much.

French Bottom Bracket. Mostly in need of the cups but the more complete the better.

I know Velo Orange makes a sealed one now but I'm looking for the cup/cone style.

Instead of getting a french threaded bottom bracket use a Mavic bottom bracket instead (its still french, but not french threaded).

As far as BB go, its probably the best engineered BB ever. Lemond won a Tour on this BB, and Sean Kelley raced on this as well. Many many pro gran tour teams used Mavic SSC stuff back in the day.

https://www.bikepro.com/products/bott...ets/mavic.html

Essentially, you use the Mavic tool to chamfer the threading and the Mavic bottom bracket is a threaded compression fit (using threads on BB not BB shell). Replaceable sealed bearings.

This is probably the smoothest most efficient bottom bracket ever made. The only thing even comparable is a Phil Wood.

The Mavic BB is very nice, but there are at least 2 significant problems with it. First, it's been out of production for many years and is hard to find (even your provided link doesn't seem to stock them at the moment), and finding a shop with the necessary chamfering tool could be just as much of a problem as finding the BB itself.

I keep seeing the tool and the bottom brackets on eBay.

I think the Mavic BB is overlooked when threads strip, or for making a French threaded bike 'normal'.

Need: Silver cantilever brakes to fit the Pro Tour. I think I'll try Dia Compe 987 or 986 next, or Suntour XC Expert if anyone has a set. Looking for similar condition to above. Other suggestions welcomed.

Tektro CR720's are knock-off's of Empella Frog legs (which actually might work better for me given the difference in offset between the mounting bolt and post mount):

Look for Shimano BR-M550 cantilevers, circa 1990. With Kool Stops and Mavic A719 700c rims, these fit on my 1984 Centurion Pro Tour, just barely but well. They are not expensive at all, but a little hard to find.

Also Gravity Research Rim Crushers--these are both rare and expensive.

Shimano BR-M70's (XT, circa 1984) do not work.

Good luck.

The BBs turn up more often than the chamfering tools. I only see the tools a couple times a year. I've been trying to pick one up, but they seem to go for some significant $$$.

There are other threadless BB options, from cheap YST cartridges to old stock EDCO cartridges (neither require any special BB prep, unlike the Mavic).

Older Blackburn SL bottle cage?

ISO: a bottle cage to match this one. It is an early 90's or late 80's Blackburn, very light (about 30-35g on my non-digital metric scale), yellow. I think the model was SL or something like that.
