Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What irks me is people who do this kinda thing love it when people hate on their setup. It's their raison d'etre, and no amount of "no, seriously, it's a stupid, dangerous setup and you aren't cool for doing it" is gonna wipe that smirk off their face.

I have a tendency to be contrarian (is that a word? it should be) myself, but this just breaks my heart a little bit.

I love the way they left just enough bar for the Cinelli decals.
Precision!

The mutilation of the (probably) road frame was a bigger crime then the sawing of expensive synthetic bars IMO.

This has to be the explanation. Even in good used condition, these bars must cost several hundred, considering retail is $900 brand new.

Yeah, that was a bit over the top now that I re-read it.

How about: That's not something I would do.

Hard to make out, but looks like the head badge is from Surly. Either way, its a steel bike with a steel fork. And a Cane Creek headset? What, couldn't shell out for the chris king bling to go with the carbon combined stem/handlebar? If you are going to bling out your fixie, need to go all the way.

Two things:

1) Bet they're as stiff as hell.
2) If he fashions some end caps think of all the weed he could store there.

don't worry, there are millions of internet wars going on daily for us to participate in.
we as a species like to compete, bash and wage war on anything that we don't agree with, even if we're at the peaceful environment of our home.

star wars vs. star trek
politics & religion
cats vs. dogs
windows vs. mac
PS3 vs. Xbox360
google vs. yahoo

and even these wars have micro conflicts in their subcategories.

I love that it's a fully lugged steel frame with a full carbon (chopped) bar & stem. That's GOT to be a first.
