Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

since CAmpy wears in, not out, the selling price should be higher than the initial purchase price

All I can say is good luck finding one. I gave up looking last year. You will probably have to assemble one through several different sellers. Having said that there is a local list serve I am on where some one is selling a Bianchi with chourus 8 speed for 650 that I was tempted to buy though the frame is too small...

If it doesn't have 25,000 miles on it or something like that I would say that is a very fair price.

If it is in good shape I would say it's a great price. Heck for that price you would be lucky to buy a new record rear derailleur and brakes.

Then again, if you aren't worried about carbon check out campy veloce. Still shifts great but much, much cheaper than record.

Here is a new Volece groupset for $549. https://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?p...ajor=1&minor=5
