Input regarding wheelset, rotors and brake pad upgrades

Hey guys,
I currently ride Merida Big Nine XT which I've owned for about 5 months. (more info can be found here: Hardtails - 29" XC Race/Marathon - Big.Nine XT-Edition - Merida Bikes International)

I'm looking at purchasing a wheelset with Mavic XM-319 rims and a Shimano XT hub to upgrade from my current Merida/Alivio wheels.
Can anyone comment on whether they've had good/bad experiences with those rims/hubs?
The wheelset info can be found here: TORPEDO7 MAVIC Custom 319 Wheelset 29er | Buy Wheelsets Online | Shop @ Torpedo7

If I do end up getting that new wheelset, I will also need to purchase 6-bolt rotors instead of my current Centrelock ones (which doesn't bother me).
Regarding new rotors, I was eyeing up Shimano XTs. But I have noticed that they have 2 products available, the standard XT and the Icetech XT.

Since the price difference is minimal between the two, I thought I could go for the Icetech XT rotors. Only problem is, I'm not sure whether they are compatible with my brakes.
The brakes on my bike are Shimano M615 and according to the very little info I've found online, they are compatible with the Icetech rotors.
Has anyone had experience with these M615 brakes, XT Icetech rotors and the required brake pads?

All input is welcome,

Thanks.

The wheelset should be fine, xt hubs aren't great but they work well for what you'll pay for them. IIRC, IceTech rotors are designed to be used with their respective pads.

Cheers for the reply,
The XT hubs would be a step up from Alivio ones though?
I'm also hoping that they're stronger as I'm not a particularly light person at 100kgs (200ish lbs I think).

XT's are a few steps up on the Shimano ladder.

Tourney > Altus > Acera > Alivio > Deore > SLX > Deore XT > XTR

The 615 brake can be used with Ice Tech pads or standard pads.

Ice Tech rotors can be used without Ice Tech pads but you won't get the full cooling effect with normal pads, depending on where and how you ride the standard pads might be good enough.

The following pads can be used in the 615 brake, these pads are also used in the latest model SLX, XT & XTR brakes too.

G03S - Standard Metal Pad
G03Ti - Standard Metal Pad with a Titanium backing plate
G01A - Standard Resin Pad
G01S - Standard Resin Pad
F03C - Ice-Tech Finned Metal Pad
F01A - Ice-Tech Finned Resin Pad

The XT hubs should be fine for your weight.
