In '87 or '88 I rode behind team 7-11 when it was out for a spin the day before the race. Also rode with Coor's Light later that day. I miss having the race it town. It was always a big party.

Today I had my first ride in eons after which I didn't find the immediate removal of cycling clothing an emergency.

Went riding in the hills behind the house and I forgot that it's still deer season. I did see 4 hunters at the top of the mountain before I started back down. I went right over to them and they were very friendly. I've had mixed experiences with hunters in the past but these guys were cool.
Anyway I got pretty tired and if I have to do a bunch of climbing tomorrow I am screwed. Rain is predicted but they've been wrong before.

Speaking of, I could use a decent grinder. Emphasis on "decent" - it's replacing a junky spice grinder, but AG would like something that can reliably grind a fine powder to produce a thicker mouthfeel. A couple hundred is ok for something that would do that. A grand not so much. What's good?

Lots of work this weekend. Yard work and stuff i brought home from the office. I'll get some rides in but nothing of note.
I rode again in the dark today since I worked late. Not a fan of riding when I need to have my headlight on medium. Don't feel safe and always looking for an animal to dart out in my way and take me down.
In other news, it has been warm and I rode in bibs and a light jacket.
I have a cheap coffee grinder that seems to work fine. I will be having some coffee in less than 12 hours.

I guess so. In the interest of full disclosure, we buy Starbucks beans for home use because they're decent quality and cheap at the local military commissary. They're definitely better than Peet's which is the other brand of beans they carry. I don't notice the burntness except in the ultra-well done, French and Italian roasts, which we don't often buy.

I was never a fan of dark roast, simply because every dark roast I had reminded me of burnt Starbucks, only stronger. The Monks straightened me out on that deal.

I like Peet's Major Dickason's blend and most of the dark roast Starbucks about equally. I'm not too particular as long as it is robust. As far as the criticism that Starbucks tastes burnt, I don't get that. It is roasted as is all coffee.

I remember you talking about the Monks last year. I'm going to have to try some of that. It was pricey if I recall but maybe I'll treat myself.
