Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That took a couple years to get used to. But honestly, the one kind of picture that can just completely wallop me with homesickness is an empty cornfield of bent over stalks in front of woods with no leaves. It hits me so hard it hurts. And I absolutely LOVE where I live.

Given the presence of a mild neurotoxin, aren't ALL cocktails 'drug cocktails' really?

it won't be me. I don't really like bananas. I am a fig bar guy when I seek carbs. Different strokes for different folks.

Bananas are a Velo Vol staple. Keeping one's banana inventory at the proper ripeness takes good planning.

Since the pandemic we have typically gone food shopping every 10-14 days which makes having my daily banana a challenge. I sometimes have to go without for a few days.

I wouldn’t mind starting today’s ride early but too lazy to put lights on the bike. Will head out in a couple hours.
