Everything here is already dead, waiting for winter to come back to life.
That took a couple years to get used to. But honestly, the one kind of picture that can just completely wallop me with homesickness is an empty cornfield of bent over stalks in front of woods with no leaves. It hits me so hard it hurts. And I absolutely LOVE where I live.
