need a short schrader cap for suspension fork -- where?
Hey all, I wasn't sure if to post this here or in MTB.
I have a magura/cannondale headshok fork and I've misplaced the cap for the air valve. It's a schrader valve, but the original cap has a flat top and threads less than your ordinary schrader valve cap. I have a standard cap on there now, but the valve is in the crown of the fork and a standard cap sticks out a lot. The original cap wasn't flush-- it protruded as well, but less.
Where can I find a short valve cap? Thanks in advance!

Did you check an auto parts store? you might also find a metal one there. you could then file down the cap to the size you need.

Actually, no. Great ideas!
I was hoping someone would answer "oh, yep, here are the short plastic caps made just for that" but I might be able to make that work.

Chess is right, a TPMS metal cap will work and are cheap enough at an auto parts store, but you will have to file it. I would contact Magura https://www.magura.com/en/service/con...ntactform.html ,get what is supposed to be there, no modding needed. Also check air conditioning caps, they are short and you can get them with o rings in them that rarely leak air out and keep dirt out. https://www.amazon.com/Santech-Air-Co...9410055&sr=8-7

You probably have a short schreader cap hiding at the end of a long schreader cap... but you need to cut the bottom off the long schreader cap to reveal the short one underneath.
