Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So pardon my ignorance, as I don't use Garmin stuff, but does that really work, or just a funny webpage?

Adjusting the values in a ride file in a ride file is a trivial effort for a Software Developer. I've developed a cycling application that reads ride data in numerous formats: TCX, FIT, GPX whatever. Adjusting the values would be a simple as increasing each value by a percentage.

I think I'm going to use this to retroactively win all of my past races.

Wait, someone's suing Strava for their idiot family member riding like a toolbox?

Sometimes, I hate the people in this country.

I think this is fabulous. I'm sick and tired of anything even remotely strava related, and anyone who thinks it is even remotely meaningful. If you want to race then strap on a number and have your ass handed to you. If you don't then your numbers are meaningless to anyone but you. Now put your numbers away and zip your pants up. You're embarrassing yourself.

The dumbest thing in the world was when USA Cyclign announced a partnership with Strava this year. It's like born again virgins taking sponsorship from Viagra.

I just use it to track my activity and personal stuff.

I laughed at the dude that went on a segment I created in the park right by my house specifically to get the KOM there. WTG Bro. You're awesome.

The only time it has even a remotely redeeming quality is when pros stalk each other with it. Then it's just simply funny, but the fact that it is specifically designed as an electronic peeing contest for people too afraid to actually race. It's pathetic at best.

I enjoy strava, but yeah, it's mostly to track myself. It's still exciting to move up the ranks on the segments I do quite often. Meh, I'll race one day, for now I just need to get stronger/faster.

Still, this is hilarious.

Yep, it works. I'd consider it more "griefing" than "funny" though.

I don't think I have ever read you being so forthright about anything like that before.

Do you dislike Facebook and Twitter with such intent, too?

And don't worry, I strike out on all three as a non-user.

Doesn't this apply to most people that strap a number on...
