Oh, and I finally gave up the hope of finding an awesome tire deal, ended my handwringing and ordered the yearly tires - Michelin Power Road TLRs this time around.

Oh yeah - a lot more work. Not surprisingly, some gravel tires are faster than others, though. I've only tried a few, but the G-One Allround are my favorite so far (I almost bought another pair yesterday - I totally don't need them, but tan sidewalls are worth $80, right?). What's on your wheels now?
I was looking at getting either the G-One or the Terraspeed or even something from Rene Herse.
I don’t really need aggressive tread except for a couple of rides I have planned.

Giant Crosscut AT 1. I don’t even think Giant sells them retail. I’m guessing I’m wasting 20-30W on these.
I was looking at getting either the G-One or the Terraspeed or even something from Rene Herse.

I have them mounted tubeless on nice wheels (Ardennes+ SL) for the dirt, and 25 mm GP 4-seasons with tubes on not-so-nice Ardennes+ GPs for commuting. Every time I switch to the fatties, it feels like riding through something denser than air.

Edit: oh, I forgot to mention - while looking at tires, I saw that Schwalbe is now offering the G-One Speed in larger sizes - 35 and 38, iirc. They used to only come in a 30mm, and it was one of the best tires I've had. I would think that they'd be awesome for occasional gravel and speedy on pavement.

One reason it was so hard to get ride of him. Also, some crazy amount of his salary is still counted against the Eagles' salary cap even though he's no longer on the team. I think it's in the tens of millions.
