I have a hitch rack, and bungee a few folded paper towels between the front tire and fender. That keeps it from vibrating in the wind. The rear fender is not an issue. I also mount my bike the opposite way as designed, with the clamping arm on the frame in front of the seat post instead of on the front wheel, as it would break the fender. However, for commuting, I just lay the bike down in the back of my car.

Thanks again Alan.
By LBS recommended SKS P55 for this bike, so that's what I'm getting (black). Now I can tell my wife how much I saved by not buying wooden fenders!

@golftdi my bike rack uses Velcro on the wheels in the tray and an arm on the top tube. I have not bothered or noticed any shimmy of the fenders at highway speed. @alan_S_ that is a good idea with the paper towels to hold them still. If I am being picked up in a pinch I just put the bike in the back of the mini van. (benefit of folding seats) Plus it is easier on my wife so she doesn't have to lift or carry the heavy rack anywhere.

@golftdi no problem I know it is a bit late but figured I would give my two cents. I considered a midnight special for commuting and some touring but the journeyman had 3 mount bosses on the fork.
