So...Got my second recall notice for the 2017 Forester. The first one was for possible low transmission fluid during assembly. Apparently the Japanese robots were slacking off.
This one is for possible corrosion in the wire connections to the passenger seat weight sensor. Thing is, they don't have replacement parts yet. Subaru's interim workaround?: Limit the use of the front passenger seat.

That said, I am askeered it might not pass inspection (for which it's due this month).

It's always good to let them check things out, and if they get it wrong Mrs T can always sue them for wrongful death.

My cardiologist says that I have a well-developed athletic heart and should be proud that at 68, it's doing so well. He also says that I ride more miles per year than he puts on his car.
Then, he informs me that I have to wear a monitor for 7 days to get a better record of my arrhythmia and make sure those 37-39 heart beats are regular and such.

When you got a “special” car like that you’re supposed to have “a guy” who will hook you up when you need a favor.

I would be too. So many of these guys and gals are hyper-aggressive, tunnel-visioned, cookbook types. My brother fell into the clutches of Big Cardiology after an ambiguous event and, although it's possible they saved him some risk, it wasn't pleasant.

Don't get me started on big cardiology. They are often over-the-top when it comes to testing and treating. Sad. And expensive.

Big Neurology needs some equally remunerative procedures. In fairness, I suppose, the bad stuff they see is common as dirt and they're calibrated accordingly.

If you want the big bucks, I think interventional radiology gets paid the most. Those guys really rake it in, and have been able to insulate themselves from the noctors as well.

Contraction of not a doctor. Pejorative term for a PA or NP, especially if they are practicing more-or-less autonomously without close physician oversight. It's the new normal. Sad.

I had a NP as a primary care provider before I opted out of the military system. We disliked each other.

I still remember my family doc ranting about specialist’s PAs. Never heard the term, “noctor,” before.

I would agree if you’re talking about the guys that read tests and suggest follow-ups by specialists. Those people have caused me more grief than any other medical group.

I like my NP. She checks my INR every month. Never keeps my waiting. If I need a Loxenox bridge she creates a schedule and sends it to me. And she hooked me up with someone quickly when I was having my a-flutter a few weeks ago. That says, she does work closely with my PC doc, who I don't really like.
