OLN sucks monkey balls

I was all into the Liege-Bastogne-Liege... I'd tivo'ed it, and I was enjoying it, when the recording ended... with less than 12 friggin kilometers to go to the finish! By the time I figured out what was happened and got to live television and rewound the tivo back, all I got was friggin hockey. Hockey! Grrrrrr... I had to go to the internet to get the results, and of course, I would have preferred to see the ending, not read about it.

I gotta get me that cycling.tv premire subscription.

I don't know. I got up to the last commercial. They were announcing that they'd be back for the last 12 km to the finish. That was it. Tivo dinged to show the end. I rushed back to the television in time to catch the start of that friggin hockey match.

Was it as good as they described?

OLN doesnt suck. And I believe thats what happened because the show was advertised as only 1.5 hours when it was really 2 so tivo thought it was over so you missed the last .5 hours.

Well, why not just advertise it as 2 hours as they originally said? If it's a 2 hour show, show two hours! If it's an hour and a half, show an hour and a half! And if they extend the coverage, friggin tell us that there's extended coverage so we aren't sitting around like a bunch of idiots and goofballs thinking we got it all.

You could always watch cycling on one of the other networks that carry the races.

Nah. I'm going to get cycling.tv premium and just go with that. That way, I don't have any nasty surprises.

Wrong. While Paris-Roubaix was ok, L-B-L was unwatchable on premium due to poor network performance.

if you taped the Fleche (why didn't you TiVO that? just wondering), the Liege race bled in to that. they didn't show the Fleche; seemed to be labled wrong. at any rate .... the end the L-B-L was the in last half hour.

L-B-L was fine here on Premium. Getting up at 5 in the morning to watch it wasn't, though.

Really your beef is with Valverde, for not finishing at the precise time your TIVO took a dump. And I'm sure OLN is very sorry they didn't predict the exact time LBL was going to end.

It's a RACE. You can only GUESS at the end time, unless it's a crit that runs 45 minutes plus a lap. Even then someone might crash and they stop the race and resume it after the mess is cleaned up.

OLN didn't suck, sucking would have been to cut to hockey BEFORE the race was over. Your TIVO sucks gigantic, elephantiasis infected gorilla testicles.

Go down to the store, buy a $150 DVD-R and set it to record with a buffer on either side of the scheduled time.

Ceya is right, at least here in Hampton Roads Va. OLN's web site and Yahoo TV guide said 5-7. But it came on from 4-6 so I missed the first hour! Just to let y'all know it will be shown again from 3-5 today(4-24) on the east coast. The last hour was so good I am going to make SURE I get the whole thing this time.

What am I missing here?

I sat on the couch and flipped it on at 4pm and it went off a 6pm...and a Stanley Cup playoff game came on after the 6pm end. Since it was on tape delay, they cut it up to fit the time.

So, what am I missing? I watched it from 4-6pm yesterday afternoon.

BTW...I am glad to see that the term "monkey balls" is an acceptable one within forum guidelines.

This is a Tivo problem, not an OLN problem. My Time Warner DVR box was smart enough to record the extra half hour.

No, it's an OLN problem. They advertised as one time, then started an hour early and messed up the times. This isn't the Tivo problem. OLN just doesn't give a crap about the viewers- the time is the time they state. Clearly, they just wanted to get in more hockey before bullfighting and celebrity poker.

On the DirecTV onscreen guide, L-B-L was listed from 4pm-5:30pm ET. They had Fleche-Wallone listed as a separate program from 5:30pm-6:00pm ET.

Lo and behold they combined the two (if you call a two minute F-W wrap-up combining the two)

I'm guessing if you had set for the F-W, you'd have seen the awesome ending to L-B-L. The big names were all there at the end! Basso, Cunego, Valverde, Di Luca, Bettini, Schleck and even Chris Horner! It was great to see how guys like Voigt from CSC and the rider from Illes Baleares were driving the pace to set up the on-form leaders at the end. Good stuff.

Sorry the Ti-Vo screwed it up for you, Koffee....

Its a guide issue not OLN. However, on DirecTV they had both races listed seperate but as cycling. I set up TiVo to record both. They are rerunning it today at 2pm central time. Later.

i believe my Comcast DVR recorded it till 6:30. I'll see when I get home. But when I started watching it reflected it as a 2 hour program. So it would appear to depend on the guide on your cable system or sattelite provider.

I don't know about unwatchable but it sure wasn't good...I felt like I was watching on regular cycling.tv again. I guess I am just happy to be able to watch...now if I could record it so I didn't have to watch it when they had it on...but I guess they have replay and their archive so I guess I have that too.

+ 1 to Aham23. Tivo recorded everything fine, but I have it programed to record anything with cycling in the description. Plus, when it is showing live hockey games, you have to count on overtime and set your tivo to record longer or miss the end of your show.

it all worked perfect on my Cox digital cable and DVR, times were right and the it fit in the advertised box, i think it was a Direct TV guide issue, not an OLN issue.
