Had another fantastic ride. This weekend’s weather has been perfect for cycling. I wish I could take some extra and bottle it up to be used later. If I Could Put Time In a Bottle...

This morning the air is better. Under 100 AQI, first time since Wednesday. Funny thing is, we're all suffering from olfactory fatigue, and can't smell smoke anymore. I'm actually toying with the idea of riding on the road instead of the trainer. Discretion is the better part of valor, though. Do I REALLY want to be sucking this crap deep into my lungs?

You know who also hates me? The selfish people buying new houses in West Knox County, and ruining my cycling routes. There's a stretch I did today that probably has double the traffic it did five years ago.
To make matters worse, where the road narrows to two lanes, the powers that be put a rumble strip on the center line, so it sounds like I'm being machine gunned whenever cars/monster trucks pass. Sigh.
Oh well, time for breakfast.

If there's a busy morning of sleeping, pre-hydrating, internet usage, and riding through the suburban battlefield/walnut minefield, it might not happen until later.

Had a what would have been a fantastic ride, but was rather hurty with the hard efforts yesterday. It was still a great ride, though. And very hilly for a flatlander like me.

In other news, I have ridden 18 out of 19 days and 13 in a row.
Avoiding rain is key. <-- There's your nugget of advice.

I thought that my 4th fender installation would be the easiest.
The French killed that idea. 4 hours for that one today

There is a Mexican restaurant across town that has the best pork chops. Maybe it's the seasoning but I get them a lot when we go there until covid messed that up.
2 chops with delicious rice and whole beans and the best chips anywhere, plus a big fresh salsa bar. They also have grilled trout which Mrs John prefers.
