Man deliberately plowed into family on bike ride, killing father, police say - WNCN

At least this driver is being charged appropriately.

I’ll speculate that a psychotic break was a contributing circumstance.

"Ex-Olympic track-and-field hopeful"
Ex-Olympic track-and-field hopeful, 31, charged with first degree murder after 'intentionally driving into and killing a father, 42, out with his two sons on a family bike ride'

In the days before the horrific incident, Morse posted disturbing videos to Instagram, ranting about a woman, and saying the devil is at work.
In one video Morse declares 'I'm gonna kill someone right now.'

Chief Dugan said Morse appeared to have targeted the family Sunday afternoon, striking 42-year-old Pedro Aguerreberry as he pulled one child on his bicycle with another child following behind on the off-road bike path. Dugan also says that Morse was recently hospitalized against his will for a mental evaluation.

This article isn't about sidewalk riding. It's about a pre-meditated murder.

Here are some more stories illustrating there is nowhere a person can be safe from cars.

Sad story. I used to ride in that area when I was in college and before it got all built up. Knee jerk reaction...this is more of a failure of mental health care than cycling safety.

There's scant little that will protect you from someone willing to intentionally do you harm.

Huh?
This has to be well veiled sarcasm, right?
