Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Clutter bothers me. Mine may be "a lot", but it's certainly not helter skelter. There's method to my madness. Dogs for every tree, presents for every tree, and candy canes as filler. Of course, the squirrel and the pigs don't get that stuff, nor do the dogs in the stockings.

In other news, I sent out 27 Christmas cards this weekend. That is way down from BITD when we sent out 80+ with letter and picture. Finally reason won out.

There's an aeroplane themed yard near us. Could it be that bampilot06 moved and is keeping it on the D/L?

The starlings that would hang out in a chimney of a school in NW Portland were pretty impressive, but these guys are taking it up a notch...

Now I know how @seedsbelize feels.
Thanks! And that's ok - I feel the same way about most of these app-things. Someone on ESPN said it well on Friday - "I'm glad I don't have to date anymore because I'd be swiping right when I meant left and it wouldn't go well."

Whereas by contrast, a few weeks ago I was talking to one of our new college grads about how the site we work on is laid out vs other credit card websites, and she said "oh, I never used a credit card website until I worked here; I did everything on apps".

A single chirp during the shift or it chirps as long as it is in that cog? Lube the derailleur and cable, tighten the cassette lockring.

Yesterday I started solo on the same route some of my friends were doing but a little before they started. I didn't want to do the whole thing they were doing and the French shower guy who says I'm not strong enough was with them. Several miles in I encountered a group of 3 women and 1 man and I knew 2 of the women so they asked if I wanted to ride along with them. I explained who was behind me and that I wanted to see most of them at some point. One of the women said she had heard about our club and came to a ride start over a year ago and the same jerkface gave her such attitude that she went home and never came back until a friend offered to go with her.

Anyway after a while they revealed they were planning the exact route I was doing, complete with extra climbing and a snack stop! The 2 women I knew were "B" riders in my elitist opinion but they have upped their game since the last time I was on a ride with them. One of the ladies was off the back on the climbs but she never sniveled and seemed to enjoy the day. I did get to see my other friends when they caught us at a regroup. Jerk was with them and didn't even say hello to anyone in our group. I had a fun ride and now I know another small group who like the same kind of rides I do.

The Peak to Peak Highway hit's about 10,000 feet at the base of that. After that, folks walk up it. I've ridden by, and I've seen a line of people walking up the trail to the top. It's a 14'er, so people need to get up it. Longs Peak.
