Heading out for some damp and dreary, mid-30s F miles. This overcast and wet weather is really getting old. Florida is on the horizon, though.

I'm in awe, not so much of sprinters who no doubt put in their training hours, but of ultra marathoners. I'm more the sprinter type, (OK, I used to be). What I can't really fathom are those people who can run 250 miles right on through the night into the following day. One of the top ultra marathoners these days is a woman from Colorado, Courtey Dauwalter. The video is of a much shorter European event she won, finishing with a big smile.

Overnight events are just way off the deep end of Bonkersville.

Got out for a few real miles and it went okay. My right side, from ribs to hip is awfully tight and it feels like the L4 root has decided to get involved. That said, I’m no more uncomfortable on the bike than I am just trying to sit. Will try for a longer ride tomorrow.
I’m also spooked each time a car passes.

I stumbled into never never land. I went to see a friend of a friend to talk about maintaining his rental fleet. I came home with two wheel sets(105 hub on at least one and Mavic rims on all) and a complete bike. Currently set up for gravel; I will convert it to road for a friend coming down in a couple weeks.
In exchange I will go through part of the fleet for round one, and will have that job for as long as I want it.

I’m wondering how much of today’s dismal performance I can attribute to my rubbing front brake .
It kept rubbing the whole ride, which I didn’t think much of, and not until coming home have I realized that it was enough to stop a mildly hand spun wheel in a revolution or so.
