Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Daily ride report: Rode 24.3 miles today in fog at 45º and a 12 mph SSE wind. No close pass-bys, dogs, etc. but I did have to change a flat tire before my ride. It's been low every day but I just keep pumping up and hoping it doesn't go completely flat on the road. It was 45# this morning so I though that a new tube was in order. Cause of slow leak was a seam near the valve.

Drove to Boston to visit the grand and his parents for the holiday. Brought the pup with us and she bonded very well with the grand, heartwarming to see. There's something natural about the bond between a little boy and a pup. That's a pair of goggles the boy has on during all the intense craftsman work he's doing.

Interesting it was foggy and 45 degrees as well this morning. 26.5 miles.

I assure you that I'll be colder in a few days and hopefully, you'll be warmer.

Really nice ride today on my 20 mile loop, partially along Narragansett Bay and the bike path. On top of the very nice views, my reward was a delicious take home lobster bisque from Blount's seafood place. Their clam chowdah is also outstanding - maybe next week.

I was—perhaps rightly—criticized for my fast cadence today. Should I start squatting 300 lbs at the gym to try and get it down?

Nice photo. I had a dobie when I had a 2 year and a newborn. He was great with the kids.

At this point in time, the only reason I'm spinning is a low watt cool down after whatever nonsense I just did. You're not out to conquer the bike world at this point, so who gives two ****s how you ride your bike?

I got on my bicycle and started pedaling on the road until I returned to the spot whence I started.

It's quite pointless when you think about it.

Today's 35 mile ride is the longest one I've done in months.

Sad.
