Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The V1 had a range of about 150 mi. and the V2 could fly only a little further. They did land sabotage crews on the East coast and actually had an airworthy prototype for a transatlantic bomber, but they never gave serious consideration to a strategic assault on the US mainland. Hitler counted on keeping the US out of the war and by the time of Pearl Harbor, he had already invaded the USSR and was maximally committed.

Depends on what you launch them from, doesn't it? I'm reasonably certain the Germans would eventually have gotten around to SLCMs.

Never heard of the acetone or mineral spirits treatment either. What’s that about?
I’ve got a pile of rims here, that need hubs and spokes. Perhaps I can move into the new age in that department too. I’m loving my 1 x 10 drive train.
It's not blue, and it didn't come in a LocTite package. The mineral spirits/acetone wash is in the directions for the stuff. Which is purple, BTW.

That is what the place was guarding against. The Delaware Bay provides access to the river of the same name and thus access to major ports like Philadelphia. Philly had a huge Navy yard at the time. A U-Boat surrendered near the fort once it learned of Germany's surrender.

The people at 4 are interested and also might make an offer but they aren't in a position to win a bidding war since this is at their maximum amount to borrow.

Roscoe was a champ today and very well behaved. He took a lot of walks which his favorite activity.

In between one of the showings I pulled some weeds on the hill and the house is looking great. I'm beat.

Unless they figured out how to launch anything other than a torpedo from the U-boat, which I'm not aware they did, they didn't have a platform from which to strike the East Coast.

You guys plan to keep this up until July, because it’s getting quite annoying. You should negotiate an alternating month schedule that will please all, especially the rest of us.

Fly by to provide much needed quality content.

New turntable and record haul. Analog is what real musicians listen to.

I just heard on the radio recently that the last original Moody Blue passed away. I saw 'em in 85 or so at the Madhouse on McDowell.

My friends said this was my birthday ride but we didn't make 70 miles. They did buy me an ice tea and a scone at a snack stop. And they let me pick the return route when it got pretty windy. I picked the route with the lesser amount of climbing which cut off a few miles but by that time it was so windy I didn't want to climb into the headwind.
I had my camera but it's hard to get pics when with others. Got a few, though. From here we are going around the base of the hill on the left.

I had a tough time getting with it. Legs felt bad for the first 20+ miles of rollers and mild wind. A random pic from where they stopped to wait.

The 6 of us stopped for a snack at a country market. After that we got on the featured climb and I finally started feeling better.

A little further up. We were spread out by this time.

The two of us in the back caught one guy who went too hard and blew up. He said he couldn't go on and was turning back. We tried to convince him but he was done. I stopped after a bit ad looked back to see if he was rolling but he was not. You can barely see him on the left.

Back to it. After this point I didn't get any more pics on the climb. Once climbing it's hard to stop and get going again. Should have got some of the scenery. It was really a beautiful day and most of the roads were very quiet.

Me at the top of the pass @5400 feet. I swear my teeth don't look that jacked in person.

Back at the bottom I took a pic of the place on the hill. While descending it looked amazing but hard to tell from here.

The Moodies were one of my favs in the '70s. The album in the photo is a numbered limited edition
