Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, that’s sad.

My wife described me as cadaverous this summer when I’d come in, hollow eyed and yellow-gray, after rides. Felt great.

Funny thing is the easiest pull-ups have ever been for me was in HS cross-country. Being lighter helps way more than lifting.

Well, we stayed up long enough enough to celebrate with daughter in Galway. She sent video from what appeared quite the party.

Get it in this colourway, you can take it on walks during the day, then wear it to raves at night.

I might make it. Worked 5am to noon, then took a 2 hour nap, just got back from a sunset bike cruise around the neighborhood.

Will probably binge Rust Valley or other junk TV to ring in the new year.

I am not getting notifications when mentioned. In other news, I don't care about the peach drop. Times square or GTFO.

Nooop, not making it to midnight, either. Wife and I put together a little smorgasbord for dinner, but the FIL didn't feel like eating. Instead, he blares the evening news in the next room, screen also in full view of the kids. First was the police killing a mentally ill man, then a sexual assault at the beach, then some guy whining about a firearm with sentimental value that was in his truck when it was stolen. Yeah, I didn't go back for a second plate and retired early. Wtf.

Sad.

I was hoping to make it up north for the pinecone drop but didn't think about it til Sunday - too late to get a decent room.
