Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hope all ok Billy.

In other news, the roads here have an icy glaze this morning and I am too ascared to ride. Heading down to the dungeon in a bit to do fake miles on Zwift.

I think Mo’s suggestion to visit Columbia Presbyterian or the like is a good one. Its time to finally get to the bottom of this, its too debilitating this time.

LP is lumbar puncture. Aka spinal tap. In your case to verify no sub-arachnoid hemorrhage which rarely but sometimes missed on CT scan.

Yeah, black ice in the morning and gale force winds in the afternoon. Fake miles it is and no kudos for us.

Feeling any better?

Cluster, if that's what you've got, is reputed to be one of the most distressing pain syndromes in the book. IOW, nothing to minimize or HTFU about.

Tell them you've been diagnosed on the internet.

Not even fake miles for me, today - it's new window day and the last of the few older windows in the house are being replaced. The main impetus is the kitchen reno - the window in there needs to have the sill height raised to accommodate cabinets/counter when we reorient the layout.

I had one last year. It was unpleasant but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The psychological discomfort was probably on par with the physical discomfort.

Agree. It's a disturbing idea.

I had a few transforaminal epidural injections, which amount to the same thing with a bigger needle, and the second two were pretty trivial. The first one, when the disc fragment was still blocking the flow from the needle and there was momentary pressure on the nerve root, was indescribably awful for a second or two.

My hope is you won't even need one. It's done for headaches only if they need CSF for suspecting *****gitis (which I highly doubt) or to "prove" no bleeding into your subarachnoid space, which I also doubt based on the story. But see what they tell you. Feeling any better?

Fake miles done. Some of my club-mates actually said they were riding with a delayed start, but I don't take chances with ice. Wouldn't be prudent.

I get knocked out when I have my spinal injections. Love me some propofol, or whatever it's called.

After removing window shades and moving appliances in anticipation of the work being done today, we got a call that one of the installers called in sick and that they'd have to re-schedule.
