Let me ask you this: The thread title and date are clear. If that's a big deal for you why can't you just skip over it? That's what I do.

Because Human nature, sure a live and let live philosophy might be a more tranquil way of doing things.
But it is not a natural first response for many people, myself included.
If that's a big deal for *you* why can't you just skip over it?

... I suppose because text stays around longer than a random person mouthing off in a crowd, you're more tempted to let it bother you and write a response than just keep walking, right?

Yeah, some other forums react differently, but that's not how we do things here.

Clear violation of Rule #8, Section 1.3a. Infractionators must be castigated. or flagellated. or enumerated, or any combination thereof.

Sorry SUPER late to this thread.
I'm going to have to say that it might work with some RD's but not as a blanket 'All old Suntour is SIS compatible'

I have a V-GT shifting on a 6-speed Shimano freewheel (MF-TZ230) I tried it with an SLS-434 DT shifter, and a set of Tourney thumb levers, I could get nice clean shifts on 3 positions, it would clatter and skip, and eventually shift on the next ones up or down, and just not make it to the last one. The SLS-434's 'friction' mode is really a micro-click, and it works just fine that way.

Of course, the V-GT is 40+ years old, so no surprise that it's not fully SIS compatible. Also, some, but not all vintage Suntour DRs are 'reverse pull' where the cable end is fixed to the DR body, and the end of the cable housing is used to move the linkage.
