looks mr basso could be joining Rock Racing. that would be nice. and a sure fire way to destroy his rep even tho I am a fan of the RR,

i think its awesome. I'm a pretty big supporter of RR and anyways they can boost their credibility, (although suing the TDG was prolly not the best idea), I'm all for it.
Now lets hear from everyone else who can't stand RR because of either
A: their "hideous" uniforms
B: their apparently brash and loud owner
C:the fact that the team has some supposedly sketchy riders.
seriously people get over it and accept some change.

"Destroy his rep"? Basso's rep is already in the toilet – this could only prove beneficial for him. I'm a big proponent of forgiveness once a rider serves his time for doping, and I'd like to see Basso come back and ride again some day. However, his strong denials of his involvement with doping haven't really helped his case, as far as public opinion, and my own opinion, goes.

AFAIK he can't hold any official job until his UCI ban is over. Same as Landis.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Basso can get a job in Europe once his time is served. Of course he'll be a little bit slower than he used to be...

Sure, I guess it would be cool to see Basso, Hamilton, Sevilla, etc up close at a local race but it's not going to change the fact I know they're all cheats. When one of them wins I won't be cheering and thinking how cool. I'll be thinking about the local guy who lost out on the podium because of cheats. Sad.

I'm generally anti-RR because they seem like a big bunch of ******bags, but I'm very much pro-David Clinger, because he's an extreme badass.

I say we have a race between his dog, Van de Broucke's dog (who apparently is on epo) and Tyler's dog Tugboat, who despit being dead probably has a decent sprint.

Basso will be fast. No doubt. I would prefer him on Barloworld which is another rumor but we'll see what really pans out. I'm not sure where rock racing = lying and cheating. . oh yeah David Millar is the ULTIMATE douschebag. just thought I would mention.

Well I don't think Basso will be that much slower, for starters -- certainly not on the limited North American circuit; those distances and recovery stretches should prepare him for great success. I'm also all for forgiveness -- without it, how are we human? This is as decent a second chance as any, and I hope Ivan makes the best of it.

As for Basso in Rock Racing, im all for it, as long as the RR girls continue to look pretty in low cut shorts and dont open there mouth's to talk. God, I should tell the story of the ones I talked to at the final stage of the TOC in Pasadena. The one I talked too was dumber than a box of rocks.

I for one refuse to suffer through that. Ive not going to watch a minute of that race. Cadel will most likely win because the best Tour team will not be in it. He got a taste of it from the race this past week where Astana controlled the entire race and Alberto schooled him in the TT's and took a stage win.
Also Astana has more reason to let it all out now where as Cadel may not be in full form and is probably working his way to the tour.
One must also Consider that what Cadel does is Tactical and on many cases he was one of the few to follow Contrador when many others fell off. On stage 17 ( Rasmussen wins ) and he only put in a surge for about 50 meters. Cadel has the weakest team and has to race very smart . Astana by all means is a super team and should win. I think this year Cadel and Cunego will battle it out but Sastre could easily be a sleeper with very strong teammates. I also could see Cancellara putting in some serious efforts for the green jersey. He is becoming such a strong cyclist it is insane.
Some may not agree with Evans tactics but I enjoy watching it all and from a winning formula standpoint he is brilliant. Stage racing to me is to minimize the bleeding on your weakness and make ground in your specialty. whether i is Climbing , TT, etc.

Better suffer with something genuine rather than a fakey like Basso...thats exactly the mentality problem cycling is experiencing now. You are definitely "Director Sportiff" material :-)

Yeah, **** Millar. Any guy who comes back from a misadventure in doping in order to put together one of the most positive teams in cycling, who is a spectacular rider, and refuses to gloss over the truth in interviews is an ultimate ****** bag.

Dude, what planet are you from? The kits are cool. Brash and loud is not the problem. It's that whole cheating and lying thing and ruining a cool sport.
Sad.

Then again I suppose it would also be naiive of me to think such a thing, you're right. Just because they have a cheating past of course means they will continue to cheat and rob the local guy of this podium spot. Then again, how will any of us know for sure until they, or any other team for that matter, are found guilty again? So go ahead, root for hamilton or basso or sevilla at a local race because they're still innocent of a new crime until proven guilty.
By the way... what part of this awesome sport would you say RR is ruining, (besides the whole cheating thing which we already discussed)? you didn't happen to read about the mass amounts of fans drawn to their pre or post race camps at the TdC did you? I guess that doesn't do anything to help this cool sport... bringing in more fans is a bad thing right?
