USS Comfort docked in NYC. As a kid, we had doctors from the Comfort and the USS Mercy at our house during the Persian Gulf War. Good idea with the hospital ship.

In the same vein, bring a gravel bike with gravel tires. I showed up with the Haanjo with 38s and a rear rack and one of the guys visibly sagged and said, "aw, man - and I'm still going to be slower than him."

Same effect as beating people in a tri with a road bike.

Bad ass.
100 hours from meeting to production. Once the race teams energize, there's no telling what can happen.

My MTB is 30lbs. Steel 29er hardtail with a 120mm fork. Fairly light wheels and only has room for 2.2 tires though.

Ugh. Financial disclosure overdue at work. At least I only have to look at my health-related equity positions, but I'll be doing it through my fingers.

I was just reading of one in Florida, too. This at the same time as they're trying to decide what to do with the cruise ships offshore

Cycling explicitly excepted, not sailing or boat maintenance, unfortunately.

Boats are just a way to get closer to the Lovecraftian horrors in the sea.

I once got beat in a CX race by a guy with a rear rack. He rode to the race with panniers. Took the panniers off, raced, put the panniers back on and rode home.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
So here's an interesting development: boss man had a meeting today and basically told everyone to wear gloves and masks as much as possible while at work. I get the gloves thing, but the mask bit seems extreme. We already don't have many people here (maybe 20 at the moment) after setting up all inside sales to work from home. We are pretty set on 6 foot distances. We have hand sanitizer pretty much everywhere.
I think this makes more sense for people who are sharing tools in the shop. Gloves are generally useful anyway. But the mask thing is buzzing my brain a little bit. 60-80% of my time is in my cube. No one else touches my computer or phone except the cleaning service. I think I'll just use the gloves when I'm in the shop. Not sure about the mask.
I think he just wants everyone to be extra precautious and act as if they are infected. The situation being that if a single person does test positive, we are effectively shut down for 14 whole days.

Those medical ships are incredible. I've been on the Mercy and have hats from both, although the Comfort's hat is cooler.
I lived in Dubai as a kid. The UAE has always been a major US base and the US presence was the only reason we didn't get invaded during the Persian Gulf War. As a kid growing up, there were always frigates, destroyers, aircraft carriers, and medical ships in the docks.
We would have US servicemen over during holidays - Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas. My mom would feed them and my dad managed the housing complex we lived at, so they would all go down to the beach and use the pool. One year for Thanksgiving, we had the doctors over.
