My double shots, Americanos, Cortados, etc. were running $3 plus at the coffee shop so i can't imagine how much less that I've spent on decent coffee at home.

Anything worth it is going to need at least a minor investment in time negotiating a learning curve; nothing push-button is worth it, IMO. Once you are comfortable with the process, the daily routine isn't onerous, but do make sure that the machine is on and ready to go before waking up (some can take up to 45-60min to really be ready to brew).

Double-check before you do - depending upon your hardware and OS, you might not be able to address the capacities that are common these days. Also keep in mind that you'll probably need DDR3, so your options might be limited (DDR4 has been the norm for a handful of years).

Yeah, I'm about a buck more here. A part of it is the dumb amount of milk that they put in their drinks and my insistence on having milk to somewhat cover their espresso sins (there are a few places around here where great, straight espresso can be had, but nothing remotely walking distance).

I doubt that it takes maybe 2', 3' tops. The worst is heating the machine up first thing in the morning if it's not on a timer.

I’m expecting delivery of a new Mac desktop today, my current machine has only 8 gb of ram and struggles to run my photo processor.
I use a 2nd monitor to view LR and PS at the same time.

I don’t think I could make an espresso prior to having coffee. Bit of a catch-22.

I took one of the TVs I use as monitors and set it up in Mom's room so she can watch TV the day after chemo treatment (she's usually wiped out the next day).
Unfortunately PS still thinks there is a second screen and displays all popups (Save As, most adjustment popups, etc) get displayed on the phantom monitor. I tried the ol' deleting preferences file trick, to no avail.

It's really no harder (once you get it down) and it's considerably quicker; unless you're some kind of heathen that grinds beans and sets up the coffee machine the night before, I can wake up and have two espressos ready to drink before the first cup of drip is ready.

Beans are ground prior, scooped into the Kalita in the morning and pre-boiled water poured on. And it’s worth noting I still often overflow or manage to fail at other simple tasks prior to consumption. And it took a few weeks to get that routine down.
