Fat bike or not??

Hi Guys,
I'm toying with the idea of buying a Fat bike. In addition to my Specialised hybrid.
Any thoughts?
Cheers Julian

What do you want it for?
Fat Bikes are considerably better on some surfaces and pointless/worse on others.

Worse? Hmm, Depends what the op is looking for. Max traction, oodles of fun? Yes. Snow and sand, Yes. All around year 'round riding, works for me. Weighs less than my 29er full sus, yes.

Well, at least I would consider a Fat Bike worse or pointless for a ride that never left the tarmac.

What fatty are you riding that weighs less than your 29er FS? That's impressive.

Not impressive at all really. Especially if you throw on some carbon bits and set it up tubeless.

2015 Farley 8, tubeless, jackalope rims, 80 mm singlewall. The tube weighed 1 lb apiece. 1x11 drivetrain. 4'tires. The 2013 Spec eduro, mostly stock, new front wheel. beefy tires for rock and chunk.

I had one for a while. It was loads of fun. Taking it to the beach with my Lab was a blast. Sometimes I wish I had it still.

Check and Ride

I love my fat bike... I take it out on just about every other ride. I'm about to start working on trials with it as well.
