I still remember our first morning waking up in Princeton on a late August trip there to secure an apartment before starting grad school. Such a front had come through overnight and we were in heaven. Cool and dry. You have to understand we had flown up from that hell hole of New Orleans. What a difference! We fell in love with the place, a feeling that lasts to this day. Of course, it was moderated some by winter. Just a bit.

Now that I have my awesome Marigold jacket, headlight and blinky taillight I just ride outside in the winter. This renders my trainer irrelevant to my winter fitness regimen.

Whereabouts of velo vol
Last August I posted about the final gas station in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania closing. Sharpsville is the boyhood home of @Velo Vol
Last week I was back in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania and discovered there is now a Dairy Queen going up. clearly he has been busy with the new business venture and doesn't have time for this website.
Photographic evidence of the before-and-after are below.

77A. Always 77A upon awakening. Always. This summer anyway. I'm wondering if it's just an automatic thing the phone does in the night.

I didn’t check the weather before I head out this morning and was a bit chilly during my ride, which made me realize that I have summer gear and nice winter gear, but I don’t have anything for something in between other than a pair of warm and leg warmers I bought some time ago.
can you guys recommend and/or share your interchanging weather gear/practices? Do you wear additional base layer, wear a gilet or do you just bear it and work harder to keep warm? I tend to start my rides my rides before 6:30-7:00 most of the time until it gets too dark to do so and would like to have something before it gets proper fall (no matter how short of it we go through here in the DC area). Don’t have a set budget, but I’d like to keep it south of $75-ish.
Thanks

Mrs. Seeds got air conditioning installed in her room this morning. We bought two extra panels, last year, for just such a turn of events.

I'm going to build up the 78 Schwinn World (Giant) this afternoon, with upright bars and a single speed rear. My new town bike. I will be retiring (giving away) the 95 Giant Yukon if the new paradigm works out.
