I know steel is real and everything, but why do people always mention when their oars are steel cut? Would it make any difference if they were cut with aluminum, titanium or carbon fiber?

I should not talk, though. My default breakfast is a greek yogurt (lately 2% Chobani Strawberry-Banana) and a banana. May need to switch to something more nut-based to get lower carbs.

The blade material leaves a characteristic cut surface, which affects the taste and texture. This is particularly related to how the cereal interacts with the salt.

I did some fake miles in the basement today before I came into work. My stupid internet feed/signal dropped me 4 times in the hour, so for 4 times I had to dial it up to 300W for 20 seconds to get back with the group. I accept this technological snafu since I can't control or fix it, and consider it a random fartlek.

Since I have idle time, I've begun hand-wringing on tires for the new year.
The new "souplesse" Schwalbe Pro1 that I've been eager to try?
The Conti 5k TL that's regarded as one of the best all-around choices?
Or Vittoria Corsa that promise a sweet ride but haven't seen much print?
I've pretty much decided that I'll buy three of whichever - I've settled in to two rear tires for each front since I've been running tubeless. That'll probably cover my 4-5k miles for the year, too, and there's the rub - commitment to one means that I won't get to try the others til next year!

I've never made the berry topping, just the pancakes.
You should see someone about your PB addiction, though I'll admit to occasionally indulging in a pancake PB&J sandwich.

Lots of absolute carbs, but there's also a fair amount of fiber to mitigate the glycemic load. I've experimented a bit and find that a small amount fills me up for a few hours. I eat greek yogurt too, mainly for dessert. I go plain and full fat for better taste, increased satiety, and lower carb load. I like a sprinkle of unsweetened muesli and a few prunes or raisins.

I imagine that Conti would be, far and away, the most popular answer online, specially on forums like BF and ST, and a healthy part of that seems to be outright fanboy-ism. That, along with the fact that I was never overawed by the GP4kII or Attack/Force leaves me lukewarm on them... but I still feel almost obligated to try them at some point. They feel like the safe, but not exciting answer.

Yeah, you mentioned that. I have the trait on both sides, but the a1c is good, so far.

Speaking of the Conti GP5k (non-TL), pbk just sent out a flash sale email on 'em - $36 each for the next couple hours. That seems like a decent price at which to stock up.

If your A1C and FBG are normal (<5.9% and <100, respectively), I suspect you won't ever have a major problem with it.
