Mrs. rjones28 was injured by today's gusty winds. Car door blew shut onto her food. Hurt so bad, she got it x-rayed to be sure it wasn't broken.

I'm so close to 200# that riding an hour and a half, the sweating takes me down to 198.5#. But that doesn't count.
I took the Circuit for another evening ride. I was fast, for me. Right out of the box I scored a PR on a 5 mile segment I've ridden 298 times, including some heavily wind-aided rides. Strava on the iPhone works pretty well. No cadence or HR, though. I enjoy just riding the Cannondale and the Circuit with nothing on the bars but my hands, just riding by feel.
I also like riding with data. Variety, and all that.

The wind was insane yesterday, with 50mph gusts. I’ve had a hoop-house up every winter for 9 years and this was the first time I had to battle so hard to keep it from being ripped to shreds. An “all hands on deck” kind of evening, except I was the only hands.

That cafe had a family of polydactyl cats. The last one lived to 25. Here is a picture of me holding him about 15 years ago.
There was another cafe in the Santa Monica mountains which had excellent chili made with tri-tip. Man, a bowl of that chili after several hours of climbing made the cruise home nicer. Sadly, that place also burned down during the Woolsey fire in 2018.

Murky was a replacement cat for my sister's Calico (Patches) that ran off when the door was open. She cried for 3 days. So dad relented and said ok you can get a new kitten. The shelter brought Murky out, gave her all the papers. Had my parents sign some stuff. And left.
Later that night there was this Yowling coming from this cat, outside, hanging on the screen to the back door. lol. my dad's face when he saw that Patches had come back was pretty funny.

I don’t need to see how fast I am going when I ride, but not know my cadence I feel blind.

I was supposed to meet up with the lady who bought me lunch last Saturday and do a club ride with her but a work thing came up and she can't make it. Which means now I have to make a decision. I don't know if anyone I want to ride with will be at the club #1 ride start. They have officially started club sanctioned (whatever that means) rides again and have 6 rides on today's schedule. Attendance won't be back to pre-covid levels but I'm wondering if there will be any difference from the last few times I have gone there.

Yesterday I received a follow-up call from the Doctor's office about my procedure. In the discussion I learned improvement doesn't happen until days 3-5. that means tomorrow morning through Tuesday morning. I was glad to hear that because I felt no better and feel now better now. I was previously told 6 hours to 2 days. SMFH.

I don't like not seeing my cadence, either. If I don't have it, I seem to settle in either too high (>105) or too low (<80). I mean, I don't need to stare at my computer 100% of the time like Froome, but I check occasionally and it serves as a reminder if I should slip in to a bad rhythm without noticing.

Interesting factoid:
My ring tone for my wife has been Cinnamon Girl for as long as I have used ring tones on my cell. Probably since 2005- ish. She's my Cinnamon Girl.
In her honor.:
