I see no evidence that the Salon des Collectioneurs is in April. Would expect November. Have look here.

note the difference, the 2023 banner says "salon international des collecteurs" whereas the 2024 banner says just "SALON INTERNATIONAL DU VÉLO 2024"
according to https://actu.fr/pays-de-la-loire/cha..._60671564.html
where they talk about "50+ Exposants" and notably, "the event will allow the public “ to discover all the models of bicycles and accessories , innovative and with the latest technologies”,"
before planning a trip there, it may be prudent to contact the organizers...

L’Intrepida registration is open. Actually opened yesterday but site wouldn’t work for me until this am. 250+ already registered, 1,000 cap.No bad for an event in October.
BTW, Garabaldi might be pointing in a direction other than Rome….

The Salon International du Vélo in April looks to be mostly or all about modern stuff, BTW.

Maybe next year then, I already have a "cycling event" the day before.
No, not the full distance. The "eigenwijze halve" it is this time :-)

Or maybe do both... Hmmm...

BTW, what's up with those links to Facebook pages? Change to the forum software perhaps? The opening post is a bit of a mess now ...

Impression of last week's Retro Bike Fair Amsterdam, made by a local TV station. The language is Dutch, but I'm sure you can guess what they're saying.

I just met a Hungarian cyclist that runs a classic ride in his home country on July 20. He said there's no entry fee, he supplies a free breakfast, and the surface is all paved. He expects 50-60 folks.

>> Registration for Eroica Germania just opened. Got tickets.
That is awesome!
I just found this thread, and looked for "Germany" since I go home a couple times a year to visit my parents.
They live less than ten miles downriver from the starting line; still the same town where I grew up.
Oh man, and there's no way they'll let me ride my Cannondale tourer, which cost a fortune to take over there. I'm sorely tempted but I'm not taking another bike over there.
I love riding up into the vineyards and the woods; the views alone are worth it.
Like this one, looking down on Rüdesheim from the West. I look forward to your report.
cheers -m

Many thanks for the helpful list!
Registered for Retro Ronde in June and Eroica in October !!!
Anyone knows if there are steep uphills at Retro Ronde in Oudenaarde? I’ve never done it and will have to adapt the bike if necessary… thanks!

Other than those the Flemish landscape is not so very hilly. L'Eroica will be more of a challenge in that respect.

The steep hills in the area are the Paterberg and the Koppenberg. They are nasty, but fairly short, so walking up is not such a big deal, if it comes to that. The Paterberg and Koppenberg are not in the 40k and 80k routes, AFIK. Don't know about the 120. There used to be an extra ride on Saturday for those who wanted to test their calf muscles on those two climbs.
