I’m trying to get my oldest frame set built up to use as a town bike, so I can tear down the current one(the 58 cm 87 Prelude), and send it packing with the two 60cm frame sets going to my friend’s rental place. So the tall Europeans have something bigger than a 54 that they can rent. That will leave me with only the coupled bike hanging as a frame set, and two road bikes, a town bike and a mtb. Building it entirely from the parts stash has been a challenge. I’ll likely have to put an old school cup and cone bottom bracket in it. Been awhile since I’ve done any of that. On the other hand, I might just keep the current town bike and give this one away. 27”wheels and all.

I would like to make it a single speed, but with a double chain ring and a seven speed on the back. Just no derailleurs. What say you LesterOfPuppets ?

I rarely cramp on rides, like maybe twice or thrice. Like Bill, nighttime is my time of fun. Many times, I can wake up just in time and prevent it, but those times I don't, are memorable. As I'm walking it off, I make my way to the refrigerator, and bust out the bread and butter pickle/ghost pepper concoction so I can sleep again.

in dumb dumb land (Ohio) I would buy 6 cubic yards delivered in a dump truck. They rarely do that here and the place I used in the past changed ownership and stopped delivering. It was a locally owned landscape place. Now I'm like all the other shlubs and buy it by the bag at a blue or orange themed big box store.

Much cooler than normal today. In the 50s downtown dropping to 46 for a low.

Lower here. It's 41 right now at the top of the ridge. I went up there Friday and it had been warm earlier in the week so I almost didn't take enough clothes. I did put leg warmers on at the last minute and when I was getting stuff out of the car I stuffed an extra cheap vest in my pocket.

It's always the coldest place around the house even though it's only 4K feet. I had 4 layers for the long descent and only wished I had long gloves. It was foggy and damp.

It can get warm, into the 80s, and after a few days it can drop back down. It can do that all spring.

It was 80 here too. Would have been another nice day to ride, but since it's the first weekend of two nice days, the yard called.

Unusual weather all over. Double the average rain here, too. That is after a bunch of drought years of 5-7 inches of rain. I don't like road riding in the rain but the cooler temps are awesome. Friend told me last week that he wishes it was 60 degrees all year. I'm not that extreme but I've really enjoyed the last few months.
