Do you dress to match yer bike?

do you wear jerseys, socks, helmet, etc in colors to match the colors of your bike? why? Do you match chainstay protector, pedals, valve caps, etc to your frame color? Does it make you ride faster? Got pics?

Not on purpose normally. So no. But when doing an event I am more selective on clothing.

Nope,
hard to see what colors I'm wearing under my rain gear..
There, I go High Viz, I wear my neon lime-yellow parka,
with the many broad reflective stripes.
or a sweatshirt version of the same..

Only when riding in a double echelon on a MUP with a front flasher. The rest of the time I wear yellow so I won't die.

Yes, I am very picky about having shoes that match! And shorts that match those shoes. (My five bikes have 3 different cleat systems. But colors? No. All but one pair of shoes are black. So are my shorts.)

The yellows and wheatstraw yellows I prefer for my jerseys go well with my red bike and that isn't an accident, but I painted the bike to accomplish that.

On my road bike I tend to be matching a little more these days. My new helmet and shoes both have some blue which happen to go more with the road bike which wasn't wholly the intention but just happened to work out that way due to availability and the colors they made. I try and have a nice matching kit usually or at least something that won't horribly clash but I don't usually do 100% matching.

I have this bike:

And wear these shoes for max Fred points (the red is more red and less pink in person):

Shorts are plain black padded shorts, shirt is plain black X-temp T-shirt or whatever. Black helmet and black/white fingerless gloves.

Flame away!

Nah, got what was cheap. High vis yellow jersey, clashing high vis green saddle bag. Though often wearing a backpack made of the same green, ie full-on Ninja Turtle.

I like to think I look good regardless of what I wear because I'm pretty buff and fine looking, but the reality is I buy the cheap stuff in colors so ghastly no one else would buy dare them. The pink butterfly helmet for men's, the giant cat jersey, all designs so soul-crushing awful that I'm often called out for my willful lack of fashion sense.

On a more serious note, the good stuff costs more while making riding so much more comfortable, but many of us just cannot afford their high prices; ergo, choose the good stuff in ghastly colors. If you go to amazon and select your size then you can often find the item for like 12 bucks if you're willing "to ride riot".

Of course not, that would be silly. Just don't wear white after labor day.

I match the color of the padding in my bike shorts to the frame decals and handlebar tape.
