Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A 24 or 32 tpi hacksaw blade is least likely to chip the carbon. Mark carefully and cut around the line, not from top to bottom.

Really like this with the white accents. Now, get a white stem, white hoods, white seatpost, white bag and some white spaces. It would look so good, imo.

I have the green and orange C3, and like the color. All my bikes over the last 30 years have been a combination of black, white, red - pick one or two. It's nice to look at something different for a change!

They're obviously great painters. I wouldn't personally think all of those frames are worth having a custom paint job, to each their own. Some of the paint jobs are really excellent. Thanks for sharing!

Here are a few pictures of my C3.

I had just taken delivery of it, and taking it out to play had to come before adjusting the fit. Just too exciting to get a new bike, especially when it could handle all these dirt roads I've been wanting to ride. (That means don't laugh at all the spacers.)

The highlights are a very reddish brown. I haven't been able to find bar tape that matches it well.

That's better, but not red enough. And you can see my steerer really would look better cut to size. It's like an antenna, or a lightning rod.

Mostly as an anti-drafting measure.

Well, since you put it that way! Here's one from when I first brought it home, slapped a saddle bag on it, a computer mount, and an old speed & cadence sensor. I need to snap a proper shot sometime when out riding... The other snap I have is from when I installed the Di2 wireless unit. (I also wrapped it with a fabric electric tape so it wouldn't tap against the seat tube.)

Digging the frame but having a "get off my lawn" moment with the color of the text. I have to confess, it looks nice - but my brain is wired to expect red/black/white.

And by all means, please do post photos of your Cervelos!

I added a BTA for hydration; this pic was literally the day it got built up. The one thing that makes me wonder if I should have gotten an IA is the lack of a second bottle boss in the triangle. I leave the Silca pod on for racing; the BTS reach is one I haven't gotten super comfortable with yet (I spent years racing tri on an S1 because of low bike skills). Last year I got sort of ok with it though, so I may give it a go... next year, since I deferred Chattanooga 70.3.

And I mostly lurk on ST, but yes I'm there.

If it makes you feel better, that's an old pic. I'm climbing the walls too.

I had put on a double BTS cage and while i can access one side fairly well, i am all kinds of useless at accessing the other at speed. So i use the other slot to hold a bottle with all the spares/CO2. Cant bring myself to put any bottles in the triangle - although I have gotten that frame triangle thingie to keep spares in, and take off one BTA bottle. The bike looks like such a Fredmobile, with all the bits and bobs hanging off it - so of course I'm getting me either a Felt IA or P3X if i break a 5:30 half (yeah, yeah, i know... I'm MOP fodder).

Snapped at today's short (30mi) ride. Didn't know how well this would work out given the bright backlight, but HDR to the rescue. (Phone's a Pixel 3.)

Sorry, wasn't going to put it on the small cog.

Since I've been riding the trainer so much I realized the saddle really needs to come up substantially; it felt rather low. Maybe 0.25-0.5". I think it's the first time I'm actually adjusting a bike to match the trainer!
