Yesterday, when I was W'ing FH and couldn't go for a ride, it was 73 degrees and sunny. By 5, it was more like 60. At the end of my ride, it was 49 degrees, and looked like this:

The Older Boy has nonsensical food preferences, and when it's his turn to make dinner, it's likely to be carbonara. But we don't go for pancetta - too pricy. Just bacon.

Even mac and cheese is tough, sometimes. Homemade is a non-starter. My son still has pretty strong noodle shape preferences, which I can understand to a certain extent, but we're talking about things like elbow vs shells influencing his lunch decision; like, if I say, "sandwiches or mac and cheese?" he'll ask "what kind?" before answering. My daughter can be worse - she's got this thing where she doesn't want to eat broken noodles.

Stay away from LG. Have a not cheap one that we hate due to way it bounces around and makes a buttload of noise. Repair guy said that's just they way it does.

Here is a pic of me going into Newcomb's and you can see the taller part of the building to the left, that was the whole thing 30 years ago. The rest was all added on by the doctor, who passed a couple years ago. I think his sons run it now? This pic was probably 2005 or so, because I was on the CAAD5.
btw, How was lower Big Tujunga? Have they worked on it at all? Last summer it was like a bombed out road, nothing but potholes, cracks, and broken asphalt.

Lower Big T was okay. Better going up than it would be going down, but no significant issues that I noticed. That's the first time I've been on it since at least 2004, so I can't compare it to anything more recently.

For all you dieters, I tried a free two week sample of Noom, back in November. They kept offering me two more weeks. Six weeks in I was down 14 pounds, and have remained so. They still offer the free trial on occasion, but when we arrive at my Paypal, an error occurs. It works well. The app.

I'm pretty sure the Sante brakes are the last generation of single-pivots. The levers are labeled SLR.

Luckily, I don't seem to have the need for its services.

I have managed to get down to 201.6 lbs from a high somewhere North of 235 over the last year, entirely by counting calories and riding. Last night after my ride, I was actually <200, but that doesn't count.

First exception was in medical school as part of an experiment I had to gain 10% of my body weight and keep it on for a month. Second exception was for about 4 months when I was preparing for triathlons and running along with swimming and cycling, I was about 5-10 pounds lower than that range.

I have been lucky with my weight. Have been within a few pounds of current weight since high school, with only two exceptions.
First exception was in medical school as part of an experiment I had to gain 10% of my body weight and keep it on for a month. Second exception was for about 4 months when I was preparing for triathlons and running along with swimming and cycling, I was about 5-10 pounds lower than that range.

I went Samsung. Bottom of the line front loader. Supposed to have good vibration control. Fortunately, it's sitting on granite tile over concrete.

Ah, no - I was just confused because of context. I was talking about use for reserved bacon fat, so when you mentioned carbonara, it made me wonder if you made it with more fat than what was in the bacon/pancetta.

Ugh. No. Sorry. My point was only that it's more the flavorful fat than the few little bits of residual solid stuff makes all those things so yummy.

I went from 225 in Dec '19 to 185 in June '20 by riding and trimming intake. The goal was to trim 2000+ calories per week our of my diet, but I didn't get detailed about counting everything. I got halfway to the intake goal just by cutting out my daily after-work beer. The rest was just portion size control, especially with carbs. I was still able to eat all the things I enjoy, I just ate a little less of them, and never had craving issues. I've stagnated around 185 mostly because I relaxed a bit on the portion control. I'm slowly trying to get down to 180. My 2002-2004 race weight was 160-163. I have no interest in being that lean at this point in my life.

Ours is on ceramic tile on a concrete slab. It has no vibration control. ****zes out like it's having a roid rage. What I have done is push it up tight against the drier, and that seems to help. But, the thing sure likes to hop around. If we wouldn't have spent about $2k on both machines, they would have been on the curb within 6 months. Never again.
