30 years ago I was 220 and I could climb all day. Not fast, but no cramps or exccess fatigue and I would never worry about finishing a ride. Now I'm under 200 and I wish I was that strong. Damn old age is creeping up on me.

It's great that you made sauerkraut. Enjoy! Crunchy is likely fine.

Sigh..I’ve given up to the family and we are traveling down to SC for a couple of days. It’s a 9 hour drive but I’m wondering if I should just put the bike on the rack and take it with. Gotta spend some time searching the SE sub forum.

The ONLY way I can lose weight is to track calories. I've tried just riding and I ended up a fitter 225.
We're actually heading into the hottest part of the year here. There are a couple months of nice riding left. Mind you, that can end suddenly when the rains hit, and as soon as the rains hit, it's Holiday Food Season.

Sweets are my downfall - I love 'em. I've been good about weighing (ha ha) the delight of consumption vs calories, though. I'll occasionally do a 500 cal treat (cheesecake, donuts, pie, etc) on a day when I've ridden for 3+ hours, but otherwise I just can't justify it any more.

I've been gaining like a steady pound a year since I left high school at 190 but the rate has been accelerating lately putting me at about 210 now.
I don't track anything that I eat or ride enough, so I really need to get things in order before my metabolism decides that it's done doing me favors.

Having those in the house would be dangerous. Two or three at the end of the day wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but stopping at two or three would take some will power.

But sour chewy gummies like Sour Patch or Trolli gummy worms...that's my biggest weakness. It's so bad but the sensation is irresistible once I have one.

Winter riding is so much fun if you're dressed for it. Winter mountain biking even with a little snow is about the most fun you can have on 2 wheels, along with dirt bikes.
Here is my friend waiting for me as we go up and up.

I don't usually crave sweets at all, especially not donuts or pastries or anything like that. Like if I heard tomorrow that I could never eat another donut for the rest of my life that wouldn't be a problem.

If it's under 65*, it's strictly worse than over 65*.

Let us know what (s)he says (assuming (s)he's any good).

The only truthful answer is who the **** knows, but my guess is the primary factor is with rates so low there's nowhere else to go for investment returns.
It's also useful to think about the idea that the market being worth more in dollars is equivalent to the dollar being worth less relative to the market. Which is it?

Given no one knows why the market is doing what it's doing, here's my GUESS:
The stimulus money is only now really starting to flow, it looks like the political types will be giving more money away soon, interest rates are at about zero and we've been told they will stay there. All of this seems like good news for folks who have plausible ideas for making money. Suppose we're still a year from completing the deployment of a vaccine (that's a guess too). Once people can "get back to normal", they econmy will be swimming in an ocean of "stimulus". A company I work with just re-financed their debt load at an interest rate that is about 1/8th of what they were paying two years ago. You can buy shares of a company that pays a dividend of over 5% with money you borrow for about 2%.
The market seems to be betting that one of the many efforts to coral this virus will work. It may also be betting that ultimately even if a million folks die from COVID in the US, it won't really matter we'll still have 327 million more and they'll be spending money. The market really doesn't care about dead folks.
The tax-cut for the rich had already over-stimulated this economy. The COVID stimulus will just add on to that. We're running the economy on the financial equivalent of viagra.
